  • On the 9th Day of Christmas…

*I took my beloved little David and his sister Rachel to Irvine Regional Park!

*We drove there via Laguna Canyon, delighting  in the new green grass on the hills
and the snow on the distant mountains while singing Christmas carols. I decided to splurge
and took the short cut on the toll-road.

*We arrived right at 10 am, bought our tickets and climbed on aboard the 1/3 scale train that took us
on a ride through the beautiful and historic park:

    Rachel and David are ready!

Attempt at group shot…arms too short!

The little engine runs on propane.

    So excited!

    Engineer Jack

All-Aboard and we’re off on a 12 min ride around the park

    Pass the pony padlock

Passing one of the lakes…I didn’t take many photos
because I was enjoying the children reactions.

David so wanted to climb into the engine area,
but new riders were waiting so the engineer couldn’t take the time,
Next best thing, a picture next to it.

There’s more to share, but that will have to wait
     till tomorrow’s post!

  • I remember Irvine Park. Do you know how long the train has been there? I think I remember a train, but I’m not sure. I also remember being able to rent rowboats.

  • @ata_grandma -  a train has been there for years, and I remember the row boats too, but they’ve been replaced with float bikes

  • I enjoyed the train ride by way of your fabulous pictures.

  • We love little trains like that here! You are a great sitter! The little ones are so pretty and look like they are having a super time with you! You’re indeed blessed to have them in your life. . . I know seeing life through little ones helps my perspective so much! Enjoyed your devotional as well you posted
