A late winter storm blew into Southern California
with steady rain and gusting winds…

a good day to stay at home, editing photos while sipping hot tea.
Yet the rhythmic pattern of rain on the roof,
drew my eyes to the window and out of the chair to find my camera.

Such delicate charm found in rain drops and a spring iris.

    A sudden down pour,
overwhelmed the cutters and poured down the windows…

    creating marvelous, abstract images.

The thunderstorm moved on, the soft rain returned,
and the iris stood stately and strong.

  • Oh so beautiful. Isn’t great how the showers change the view

  • Haha, that comment is from me, Jenny, but I am on Bob’s site

  • This is a beautiful post, Mary — I absolutely love the patterns of the water running down the window where it overflowed the gutters, and the abstractions it caused in the bird of paradise shot and the next one!  That must have been about the time yesterday that I almost pulled over and stopped as I was driving home from the desert — I was on the toll road, right about at Greenfield!

  • Beautiful! I love the different patterns on the window from the rain.

  • some of the rainy windows look like stained glass ~ gorgeous!

  • Wow, so lovely.
