October Memories~
and so thankful that I have
these photographs to help to remember them

Growers First Celebration Dinner at Villa Rockledge
then a few days later

for the farmer’s community in Oaxaca

End of an Era
Spence waxing our new 2012 Mustang
while waiting for the new owner of his El Camino to arrive
It’s a bittersweet moment…39 years driving
a classic muscle car
a “daily driver” that has served him so well
yet finding parts and mechanics to keep it running
had become more and more expensive.

Michael, 16, worked all summer to save up enough
the money to buy our 72 Chevy. He’s got the time
plus teachers to help him keep it going.

An early winter storm blessed us with rain
and a gorgeous sunset

Fall Color in Southern California…
the Poison Oak turns red!
One of the natural lakes in Laguna Canyon
that our town is named after.
Live Oak Acorns
Telegraph Flower seed puffs
Semi-annual church meeting in Fellowship Hall
Hike up to Castle Rock near Big Bear Lake
during a 3 day women’s retreat…
Bri was there too, having returned from Romania
only a couple days before.
Date with Spence to the Performing Arts Center
to see the “Kings of Dance” Ballet
HOME~ new flowers for our shade garden
Silliness from Kelsey and Bri
Lil David still takes good naps
Indian Summer temps, an extreme low tide and the ever growing popularity of SUPs
(Stand Up Paddleboards)
The Tanaka Family at Crystal Cove
The Broggers at Blue Bird Park
Trainer Jo Neath
And on the last day of October…
our Little Church by the Sea’s Harvest Festival fun!

Love the pictures! That’s a very different lookig oak leaf and acorn than we have here in the east.
beautiful, Mary! I love the pictures- you capture so many emotions and the light ambience just perfectly. I love it.
Wonderful to see you review of October! You capture people so beautifully, they are interesting even when I don’t know them!
I hiked castle rock with the David and the youth group a few years ago.
I had to show Bill the El Camino – he was sad with y’all, but I knew he would love that a 16 year old fella was buying it! Great photos, Mary, and I can see why you are thankful for October!
